We believe in Romans 10:10 "for with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." We believe that you must "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" in Acts 2:38. Founded in April of 1967, Divine Kingdom Builders began as a prayer band in the home by Overseer Bertha Plummer C. W. Gilbert, Divine Kingdom Builders is a Loving Church. We have been serving the community for more than 50 years, providing a space for people to come together and connect with the love of Jesus Christ.
Our founders believed in the transformative power of faith in the Word of the Lord, being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit, and we continue to hold to these foundational truths.
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6.
We have a strong history of developing ministers that go on to establish churches and other ministries to continue the vision to impact the community and build the Kingdom of God. We are commissioned to go! "But ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. And ye shall be my witnesses in Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world." Acts 1:8
We have ministry in our heart and a heart for people.
Dr. Terri Jamison-Gary made the journey from the coalfields of WV to Ohio in 1985. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University, a Juris Doctor degree from Capital University Law School and a Doctorate in Community Leadership hon causa from Franklin University. She received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:38 on January 1, 1984 under the leadership of the late Bishop George C. Plummer, II. She has served in the offices of assistant secretary to the Sunday School, transportation ministry, member of the Redeemed, Inspiration, and the Pastoral Choir, member of the Missionary Board, Usher Board, and Church Clerk. She was anointed and consecrated as an Evangelist in April of 2002. She continued to preach and teach throughout the state of Ohio, the U.S. and the Dominican Republic. She has had a radio broadcast "Divine Connection" for several years where she encourages the listeners to connect with God and find purpose in our lives.
She is bi-vocational, serving the Franklin County community as a Judge for the Ohio Court of Appeals for the Tenth District. She is a sought after preacher, inspirational speaker, and has been featured in documentaries addressing the disparities in school discipline, the work of returning citizens, and social justice.
At Divine Kingdom Builders, we are blessed to have the helps ministry of Deacon Ricardo "Ty" Gary. Deacon was born in Sylacauga, Alabama and moved to Akron, Ohio after the death of his father where he graduated from Akron Beuchtel High School. Deacon relocated to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University where he majored in accounting.
Also a man of service, Deacon served in the United States Marine Corps. Always a Marine, the slogan "The Few, The Proud" undergirds the man that he is as he works with excellence in everything that he does.
He has retired from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office after more than 27 years of service. He is a man that continues to work, having secured his real estate license. Deacon believes in the importance of community to support one another. His vision of Majestic Men in Action has helped to transform youth and young adults that he has known through the years.
He works alongside Pastor to accomplish the vision and mission of the church, reaching the lost to build the kingdom of God.
At Divine Kingdom Builders, we believe in the importance of community and coming together to support one another. We offer a variety of programs as we are committed to outreach and ministry throughout our local community and globally. We believe that by treating others with dignity and respect, that we can create a better world for all.
